We fight on - until all animals are free

We're not afraid to say it: 2022 has been a wild year, in so many ways. So wild that we have far too many highlights to share with you.

One of the things we have to mention is the Chicken Fight. The campaign has been running for several years and every year we save more animals. This year, Rema1000 dropped the turkey chickens. This is a huge victory for the animals, for which we have worked for a long time. We acknowledge and celebrate all of you who have put time, effort and energy into making this happen. Thank you for what you do for the animals. As we enter the New Year, the fight is not over. We're still walking the streets in wind and weather, fighting for Coop to drop the turbo chickens. But, if 2022 has shown anything, it's that we're not giving up. And the Danes agree with our message. In 2022 alone, more than 10,000 people signed the petition for Coop to follow in Rema1000's footsteps and ditch the turbo chickens!

Free wings and free fins

In 2022, we've unveiled a long-awaited project: the "Frie Finner" fishing campaign ! Although the campaign itself hasn't started yet, in 2022 we have a talented full-time campaign employee. She's been researching, strategizing and, at the time of writing, planning the launch of the fishing campaign on January 7th. We can't wait to see what will happen in 2023. You can read more about fish here.

Demonstrations against fur

Isn't fur becoming a thing of the past? Apparently not, if politicians are anything to go by. Because mink farming has been made legal again, and we can't understand why. In 2022, we fought hard to stop fur farming, with demonstrations across the country and on the opening day of the Danish Parliament. And we have been heard. We have been featured in national media, covering both our fur actions and other activism for the animals! Read more about fur here.

We are more and more people, doing more and more activism

And now for some crazy numbers and insights into what's happening backstage. In 2022, 1000 people have chosen to become members of Dyrenes Alliance - and many more have chosen to become super supporters! It's amazing to see how many people want to make a difference for the animals. And we can definitely feel that something big is happening in our association and in the movement. Our team has grown so we can make an even bigger impact! We have two new full-time employees, the aforementioned campaign worker, Louise, a country coordinator, Maria, and a new Chairperson on the board, Victoria.

We strive to become more efficient and save more animals. That's why in 2022 we've been to animal rights conferences, held and participated in workshops and FOKUS weekends.

We have done activism for big festivals, like Roskilde Festival, Folkemødet, Northside and many more. We have held 750 events nationwide!!! That's more than two a day on average! We've undoubtedly reached hundreds of thousands of people - educating them about animal welfare or plant-based food. Nearly a hundred activists have also ordered free activism materials from our website - it's so great to see how much you're doing for animals.

In conclusion, there's not much more to say than: THANK YOU!

We can't emphasize enough how much we appreciate everything you do for the animals.

It is so clear to see that a difference is being made in society. More and more people are eating vegan, more people are waking up to animal suffering and more people dare to make a difference.
We hope you will help make 2023 an even better year for animals!
