Dyrenes Alliance is responsible for your personal data. We want to protect your privacy and respect your wishes about how you want to communicate with us. When you participate in our promotions, browse our website, or meet us in other contexts, we will be guided by this privacy policy. It explains what information we collect and how we use it to better help animals in need.

What personal data do we collect from you?
We collect various information that you actively make available to us. This includes your name, email, address, social security number (if you have provided it to us in connection with a financial contribution) and telephone number. If you support us financially, we also store information related to your support so that it can be created.
If you take part in a user survey, for example to improve our membership magazine or website, we will store the results. The same applies to surveys about your interests in relation to our work, for example if you want to receive information about or support a particular aspect of our work.
Personal data obtained from third parties
We may supplement the information we collect from you with information we receive from third parties. For example, if we receive your membership magazine back, we may check whether your address has changed so that you can receive it correctly. This may also include information we receive from third parties who provide our payment solutions to enable payment when you support the animals.

On what basis do we process your data?
By supporting our campaigns, we assume a legitimate interest from you and from us to keep you informed of the impact of your actions, such as signing a petition, and to provide you with the opportunity to become more involved with and supportive of Dyrenes Alliance.
Who can we share your personal data with?
Partners and service providers
Dyrenes Alliance will generally never sell your information or pass it on to other companies or organizations. The only exception to this rule is if we are doing a joint campaign with other organizations, e.g. to collect signatures to influence the EU, and therefore collectively submit the signatures. In such a case, this will be clearly stated.
However, we can hire companies to perform a task for us. e.g. to provide infrastructure and IT services (including, but not limited to, data storage), to process credit and debit card transactions, to provide customer service, as well as to improve data, perform other types of statistical analysis.
When a company performs a task for us, they may access your personal data, but only the data that we give them to perform the task, and the data may only be used in accordance with our instructions.
Where do we process your personal data?
If our service providers host, process or store data in a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"), your data may be transferred there. This may be processed by employees working for us or for one of our suppliers located outside the EEA. Such staff may, for example, be involved in fulfilling your order, processing your payment details and performing our support services. How long do we keep your personal data?
We will only keep your personal data for as long as we consider necessary to fulfil our purposes as described above.
We will then delete or in some cases anonymise your personal data. We regularly check whether we have stored personal data that needs to be deleted. However, as we process your personal data for different purposes, the actual period for which the personal data is stored will vary.
Typically, the following deletion deadlines apply:
User data
User data is information about how you use and navigate Dyrenes Alliance's websites and platforms is stored and processed in Google Analytics for 26 months
If you have been inactive for a period of 4 years (no purchases and no interaction with Dyrenes Alliance's campaigns), we will contact you and ask you if you wish to remain in our system. If you choose not to continue, we will delete you.
User surveys
User surveys include information about your answers to questions in various surveys 2 years
Customer service data
Customer service data is information that you provide when you are in contact with Dyrenes Alliance and voice recordings. 3 years (enquiries and text dialogues) 3 months (voice recordings)
For purchases and financial transactions, we store the data for 10 years.
