Dyrenes Alliance the data controller for your personal data. We want to protect your privacy and respect your preferences regarding how you want to communicate with us. When you participate in our campaigns, browse our website, or meet us in other contexts, we base our actions on this privacy policy. It explains what information we collect and how we use it to better help animals in need.

What personal data do we collect from you?

We collect various information that you actively provide to us. This includes your name, email address, postal address, social security number (if you have provided it to us in connection with a financial contribution), and telephone number. If you support us financially, we also store information related to your support so that it can be recorded.

If you participate in a user survey, e.g. to improve our member magazine or website, we will store the results of this survey. The same applies to surveys of your interests in connection with our work, if, for example, you wish to receive information about or support a specific aspect of our work.

Personal data obtained from third parties

We may supplement the information we collect from you with information we receive from third parties. If we receive your membership magazine back, we can, for example, check whether your address has changed so that you can receive it correctly. This may also include information we receive from third parties who provide our payment solutions to enable payment when you support the animals.

We process your personal data in order to provide a better service and to fulfill our purpose of helping as many animals as possible with the resources we have available and to always streamline our work.

To communicate with you about your participation in our campaigns and your support or membership of Dyrenes Alliance to provide you with updates, support opportunities, news, and information.
To give you the opportunity to volunteer/be active for animals

To update your contact information, including supplementing it via data cleansing by third parties.

To use IP addresses, device identifiers, or other information necessary to block malicious use of Dyrenes Alliance, as well as to keep your data secure based on log files.

We may also process your personal data if it is necessary for us to comply with a legal obligation or a decision by a public authority.

On what basis do we process your information?

By supporting our campaigns, we assume a legitimate interest on your part and on ours to keep you informed about the impact of your actions, such as signing a petition, and to give you the opportunity to become more involved in and support Dyrenes Alliance.

Who can we share your personal data with?

Dyrenes Alliance As a rule,Dyrenes Alliance never sell your information or pass it on to other companies or organizations. The only exception to this rule is if we are running a joint campaign with other organizations, e.g., to collect signatures to influence the EU, and therefore submit the signatures collectively. In such cases, this will be clearly stated.

However, we may hire companies to perform tasks for us, e.g. to provide infrastructure and IT services (including, but not limited to, data storage), process credit and debit card transactions, provide customer service, improve data, and perform other forms of statistical analysis.

When a company performs a task for us, they may have access to your personal data, but only the data we provide them to perform the task, and data may only be used in accordance with our instructions.  

Where do we process your personal data?

If our service providers host, process, or store information in a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"), your information may be transferred there. It may be processed by employees who work for us or for one of our suppliers located outside the EEA. Such personnel may, for example, be involved in fulfilling your order, processing your payment details, and performing our support services. We take all reasonable and necessary measures to ensure that your personal data is processed securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and have implemented appropriate security measures to protect your personal data.

How do we protect your personal data?

Protecting your personal information is important to us. All personal information you provide to us is stored on secure servers, and we have clear procedures in place to protect against loss or compromise.

How can you access your personal data?

We understand that you may sometimes need further information from us about your personal data and how it is processed, or that you may wish to update or correct the personal data you have provided to us.

Among other things, you have the right to be informed about whether we process personal data about you and what information we have in our system. You have the option of having incorrect information corrected or deleted. You can withdraw your consent or object if you believe that we are processing your data in a manner other than what we have agreed upon.

Finally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, the Danish Data Protection Agency.

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the contact details below. We will endeavor to respond to you within 30 days. If this is not possible, we will notify you of the reason for the delay and when you can expect a response.

How long do we store your personal data?

We only store your personal information for as long as we deem necessary to fulfill our purposes as described above.

We will then delete or, in some cases, anonymize your personal data. We regularly check whether we have stored personal data that needs to be deleted. However, since we process your personal data for various purposes, the actual period for which personal data is stored will vary.

Typically, the following deletion deadlines apply:

User data   

User data is information about how you use and navigate Dyrenes Alliance's websites and apps. It is stored and processed in Google Analytics for 26 months.

If you have been inactive for a period of 4 years (no purchases and no interaction with Dyrenes Alliance campaigns), we will contact you and ask if you still want to remain in our system. If you choose not to continue, we will delete your account.

User surveys             

User surveys include information about your responses to questions in various surveys 2 years

Customer service data                 

Customer service data is information that you provide when you contact Dyrenes Alliance voice recordings. 3 years (inquiries and text dialogues) 3 months (voice recordings)

We store information relating to purchases and financial transactions for 10 years.
