Youth for a just world for animals - since 2008
Dyrenes Alliance is a youth organization founded in 2008 by a group of young people who wanted to make a difference for animals. Back then, we handed out thousands of leaflets on the streets. We still do, but now we can proudly acknowledge how much Dyrenes Alliance has grown. Our organization has evolved into a larger, democratic organization with 16 chapters across the country, conducting bold and legal activism and running effective campaigns that target concrete results.
As a youth organisation, we are passionate about working for a better world for animals and the environment, while engaging young people for a just world for animals. Our activities range from targeted demonstrations and leafleting, tasting events and social events to film screenings, workshops and debate nights. Effective activism for the animals
Many of our activities are aimed at introducing Danish citizens to a greener and more animal-friendly lifestyle and teaching them that plant-based food doesn't have to be boring: Conversely, there are actually an incredible number of benefits to a vegan lifestyle. We also run several different campaigns where the results can be measured directly.

Get Café Vivaldi, Circle K, Halifax, LIDL, Scandic, 7-eleven, Aldi, Salling Group and REMA 1000 to stop selling broiler chickens.
Get Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Hilton, Best Western, Starbucks, Radisson Hotel Group and Marriott to ditch cage eggs.
Theory of Change: How we create change!
Our work at Dyrenes Alliance is driven by a clear vision: A world where all animals are free. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen overnight. That's why we have developed this visual tool, "Theory of Change", which gives an overview of our work and how we create change.
Our Theory of Change at a glance
Our Theory of Change is not only about the individual activities we perform but also about how they form a cohesive strategy to reach our ultimate goal: Total animal liberation. We have illustrated the different stages we move through: From where we are now to where we want to be.
Theory of Change connects our resources - our committed members and activists, our financial contributions and our research - with our activities such as everyday activism, policy advocacy and the Vegan Challenge. These activities lead to tangible results, such as greater awareness of animal rights and veganism, policy changes and a wider acceptance of veganism. But our Theory of Change doesn't stop at our outputs. It outlines the long-term impact we want to see in society: Improved conditions for animals, reduction in animal suffering, and ultimately, total animal liberation.
Every signature we collect, every member we educate, every flyer we distribute and every person we inspire to take the Vegan Challenge and go vegan is part of this bigger plan. We know that every action counts, and together these actions create waves of change that gradually build a more compassionate and just society.
What does our Theory of Change mean to you?
This visual overview is not only a good guideline for our work at Dyrenes Alliance, it is also an explanation for you. We want to be transparent about how we work and why we do what we do. And how we always work for animal rights and liberation.

Nationwide activism for the animals
Since 2008, Dyrenes Alliance has evolved to cover several different local areas in Denmark. Each local association has an active Facebook page where you can follow what's happening. You can always write to the association if you have questions specifically for the coordinators in your area, or you can sign up for your local SMS list.
