Dear Christiansborg: Permanently Ban Mink Farming!
Activism at Christiansborg
On Parliament’s opening day, Dyrenes Alliance was at Christiansborg to meet our politicians face-to-face, demanding a permanent ban on mink farming in Denmark. Our activists made it clear: mink should never be forced to suffer for "fashion."
And it wasn’t just the many passing politicians who noticed our demonstration, but also media outlets like DR, TV2 and Jyllands Posten who covered the action.
Mink need space and the right to freedom
Mink are active, solitary predators who can never thrive in captivity. In the wild, they are loners defending territories up to 2.5 sq km, which they do not share with other adult mink. They are curious, inventive animals with webbed feet who spend much time swimming. Mink hunt both on land and in water—needs that mink farms simply cannot meet.
Currently, mink farming is only temporarily banned until 2023. After that, millions of mink could again be forced to suffer in cages. That’s why it’s critical to push for a permanent ban.
What You Can Do
If you agree that breeding and killing mink for their fur must be permanently banned, sign our petition at DropPels.dk.
And if you’re ready to do even more to help animals exploited for their fur and skins, consider becoming an activist with Dyrenes Alliance and/or making a donation today.
