Internship at Dyrenes Alliance

Written by Katarzyna Mularczyk

After 3 months at Dyrenes Alliance, I can certainly say that it has been a great pleasure to be a part of the organization's life. I'm an international student who has just begun her marketing career, and I don't think I could have asked for a better opportunity!

A woman smiles while holding two signs with messages about animal rights: 'Let the fish swim free' and 'Protect the fish'. One sign shows fish caught in nets, and the other shows fish farms.

What I learned

Dyrenes Alliance a place motivated by passion, a sense of the greater purpose, and a love for the animals. Throughout my internship, I have faced a variety of challenges both in the office and around Copenhagen.
First and foremost I have been part of more traditional tasks, like creating the social media strategy or updating the organizational website. It is certainly a strong skill set, that I can use and develop in my further career.
There have also been more exciting aspects of my journey that I could never have expected while searching for an internship. Being part of events such as an anti-fur protest or a climate strike and documenting them has been a unique experience that I would not have been able to find in any other workplace.

The work culture

I'd also like to mention the great work culture I've encountered at Dyrenes Alliance. I consider it an organization where everyone can feel respected and appreciated. In this diverse, international environment, there's no place for discrimination and anyone is welcome. Team-building activities aren't just unnecessary "time-wasters," but actually bring coworkers closer and mental health is prioritized. A big part of the knowledge that I gained here comes from my colleagues and the fact that they're always patient and willing to help. It could be an example for many other internship organizations and companies.

Final thoughts

I finish this part of my career journey with both great marketing skills and a lot of new knowledge about animals and activism. If you're also looking for an internship and you care about animal rights, I wouldn't hesitate to get in touch with Dyrenes Alliance!
