Give animals freedom

Welcome to 85 new members of Dyrenes Alliance who supported our New Year's match!

Thanks to brave people like you, we are exposing the uncomfortable truths and horrors society inflicts on animals in Denmark every day.

Now you have the chance to stop animal abuse forever.

Become a member now—if you join as a monthly member at 80 DKK or more, generous donors will triple-match the value of your first donation. That means if you become a member before New Year's, your donation will have triple the impact to help the animals.

We endorse the Plant Based Treaty

With your monthly membership, we will be stronger and able to push back against industry influence. Together, we can convince your neighbors, politicians, and decision-makers that animals should not be treated this way.

Your care and protection of helpless animals is the most beautiful Christmas gift.

Thanks to your steady membership, 2025 will be the year for animals, when the veil is lifted more than ever on their cruel lives.

50 new members by New Year's Eve
– will you join?

Help us build a world where animals are no longer seen as objects but respected as the feeling individuals they are.

Dyrenes Alliance works every day to:

  • Make veganism mainstream through education and targeted efforts.

  • Shift the media perspective and put animal rights on the agenda.

  • Challenge politicians to act, so we end animal exploitation—not just improve their conditions.

But we need you! Our goal is to gain 50 new members by New Year's. With your support, we can do even more next year: more events, more media stories, greater awareness, and bigger change.

Become a member today and support the fight for animals!

See what we've already achieved together here in 2024!

Folkemødet: Politicians manned the spatula behind the plant grill

We're a bit lazy! Why hand out plant-based samples when we can get politicians to do it themselves? ;) At this year's Folkemøde, we launched an exciting new concept: politicians cooked, tasted, and served samples to Folkemøde guests. We provided a large grill, a tall chef's hat, microphones, seating for spectators, delicious vegan products, and set the stage for talks about animals in our food system. A huge success!

"Eat plants instead" was displayed on the banner behind when Food Minister Jacob Jensen (V), Carl Valentin (SF), Emil Moselund (Radikale Venstre), Søren Egge (Enhedslisten), Helene Liliendahl Brydensholt (Å), and representatives from Dansk Folkeparti and Konservative Ungdom actively participated. We also appeared on DR1 in prime timeshowing together how delicious and easy it is to eat plants instead of animals – an important step toward making veganism mainstream!

Denmark's Largest Food Festival: The plant grill got really hot!

There was a line all three days at Aarhus Food Festival where we fired up the plant grill and served over 1,200 tastings of delicious plant-based burgers! As the grilled aroma spread to the 30,000 festival visitors, we ran a live TV kitchen from the festival, grilling juicy burgers for people without any animal products. The audience loved the free samples and got ready for the new summer grill menu without animals on the grate.

Naturli’ provided the patties, but our fantastic members funded everything else—stall space, bread, spices, tomatoes, lettuce, dressing, plant cheese, transport, and a brand-new pavilion! Thank you for making this possible!

It's crucial to be present at key events like Denmark’s largest food festival, where food culture is shaped—we must challenge it, and you help us do that! We absolutely want to be back next year—because there are still very few animal-friendly players there.

We inspired people with over 400 events nationwide in 2024

We're visible and active in our 16 local branches around the country!
This year, over 400 events where we handed out flyers held sampling sessions,, cake stands, food clubs, vegan Easter feasts, gave tours of barns and slaughterhouses with VR glasses and much more.

Together with you, we create spaces for important conversations about a better world for animals. You help provide the setup and time for us to hand your neighbor a recipe book and have the conversation you and the animals deeply need to be had with them.

Truck action in front of Copenhagen City Hall

Sammen med den svenske dyrerettighedsorganisation Djürens Ratt parkerede vi en stor interaktiv lastbil fyldt med skærme og VR-briller midt i København.

For an entire weekend in October, we showed animals' lives in agriculture to hundreds of visitors, including a city council politician who stopped to have their perspective challenged and got close through our screens, quizzes, VR glasses, and deep conversations.

Many had their eyes opened, and several on-site chose to live vegan going forward and never contribute to animal exploitation again.

Dyrenes Alliance in the media – TV, radio, and newspapers

Dyrenes Alliance has spotlighted animal rights and appeared on TV four times this year, including Go’ Morgen Danmark, Go’ Aften Live, and TV2, - Dette er langt mere end tidligere! Derudover har vi repræsenteret dyrene i radioen flere gange på bl.a. P1 Debat during the European Parliament elections, where we challenged farmers and politicians on animal welfare, which we see as a marketing stunt for a system that still treats animals as products.

We continue ensuring animals’ voices are heard! Altogether, we have been in the media 30+ times this year, including TV2 Kosmopol, DR1, Sjællandske Nyheder, LandbrugsAvisen, Familiejournalen, RADIO4, Ekstra Bladet, TV2 News, Go’ Morgen Danmark, Dagbladet Ringsted, Food Supply, Avisen Danmark, Frederiksberg Lokalradio, TV2 Kosmopol, DR1, Sjællandske Nyheder, LandbrugsAvisen,, Familiejournalen, RADIO4, Ekstra Bladet, TV2 News, Go’ Morgen Danmark, Dagbladet Ringsted, Food Supply, Avisen Danmark, Frederiksberg Lokalradio and and B.T.

Melanie Joy in Denmark: Focus on strengthening the movement

We had the honor of inviting internationally renowned psychologist and author Melanie Joy to Denmark to inspire and strengthen our movement. She held two workshops in Copenhagen, teaching participants how to improve communication with friends and family and strengthen internal unity within the movement. The focus was also on protecting ourselves and each other from burnout in a world that still holds many cruelties against animals. It was an inspiring and educational experience that gave participants tools to stand stronger in their fight for animals..

Closing of Danish Crown in Ringsted

We celebrated the closure of Ringsted Slaughterhouse, which until April this year killed 45,000 pigs every week. We attracted major media attention, which gave us the opportunity to declare that Denmark is a richer country without slaughterhouses.

We conducted surveys among the slaughterhouse’s laid-off workers; many were glad to find other professions, and several had already secured jobs that no longer involved harming animals.

Partycrashers: PETA and Dyrenes Alliance deliver message to H&M

PETA UK and Dyrenes Alliance attended Global Fashion Agenda in Copenhagen to demand that event sponsor H&M stop using down in their products! Down always involves cruelty and violence. We may have spoiled the party, but it’s time to leave the birds alone.

We also delivered our message directly to Her Majesty Queen Mary when she arrived for the event 👑 The animals’ message was impossible to miss!

Stop experiments on beagles and mini pigs

This year we supported the local resistance group in Viby Sjælland fighting against the opening of a new testing center where Scantox plans experiments on beagles, mini pigs, and other animals—if we don’t stop it, this will happen just 30 minutes from Copenhagen.

Animal testing is outdated and unnecessary—many medicines and procedures can now be tested using new methods that require only transition and commitment.

Activism at fairs, markets, major events, and cultural days

Our goal is to ensure Dyrenes Alliance is always present where people gather, giving animals a voice and keeping them part of the collective consciousness. Through our participation, we spark conversations about animal rights and plant-based lifestyles that inspire and engage.

We’ve been everywhere, spotlighting animals at events including (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Health Fair in Aarhus

  • Christmas Market in Roskilde

  • Torvemarked in Aarhus

  • Climate People's Meeting in Middelfart

  • People's Meeting on Bornholm

  • Brunsviger Day in Odense

  • Aarhus Food Festival

  • Culture Night in Slagelse

  • Youth People's Meeting in Valby

School Initiatives

Through inspiring workshops and tailored educational programs, we invite young people in elementary schools and high schools to reflect on society’s and their own perceptions of animals. Why do we see some animals as beloved family members while others are reduced to products on concrete floors? With engaging talks and discussions, we challenge established norms and encourage young people to think critically about how we treat animals in various contexts.

These activities promote insight and new perspectives that can help shape a more ethical future. The future is vegan, and we believe this knowledge can be the catalyst for youth contributions toward a more just world.
